November 16 God's Work is UrgentMy colleague's dad just passed away. It's such sudden news to her. I felt so sad after the shock set in and this thought just impacted me...God's work is urgent. Many people do not know Him. They may have heard of Him but they do not truly know Him. They do not know that God loves them and that He was the one who made them and saved them.
I was sharing this thought with Ting and she mentioned that it's so scary and sad, so much so that she is afraid her loved ones will leave her too. It is inevitable that people pass on. If my loved ones who are Christians pass away, I'll certainly be very sad but at least I'm strengthened by the knowing that I'll see them again, and that they are happy and without earthly worries because they are with our loving Father in heaven. November 09 Importance of SpeakersMy new office computer's monitor has no in-built speakers. I kind of took it for granted that it should come with in-built speakers as my previous one had them. So down now...I don't like the fact that I need to listen via ear phones. The atmosphere that speakers give is incomparable. I remember I went to iShop at Cineleisure and saw a set of Bose speakers that were small and sleek. They were so powerful! No longer being able to remember how they look like, I just went to take a look at Bose's website. I don't know if this set below is the one but they look small, sleek yet powerful. Haha!

Getting very tired. Still not fully recovered.
So many things to do. I don't have enough time.
I need a break. I need to rest.
Going to focus and recharge with God. God help me. October 30 Music I'm Into NowAfter seeing No Doubt perform this song at a recent event, I started listening to the song again. Nice. AccidentYesterday was the day I encountered my first car accident. I was a passenger in a cab and as girls usually do, I'm not looking at the road while getting comfy in the seat. Suddenly, Uncle e-braked and inertia caused the strain in my neck from Yoga to worsen. Sigh...I wonder if I should see a doctor. Anyway, back to the story...
Even after the e-brake, the car was still on the move and hit the car in front because the cab was moving at a fast speed on the highway. It was a chain accident with my cab being the last car. The accident was not a serious one and everyone was civil about it. They just spoke, took pictures and made phone calls. It was rather an eye-opener. As usual, my reaction to shock was excitement due to adrenaline. Just like when I smashed my chin on the pavement when I was skateboarding. Haha!
I want to send a message to all of you who read my blog; Strap Seatbelt! It's so simple and important yet not many do it. It saved me from injuries. Thank God! UQ Basketball Asean Games' ResultsBao Bao's Daddy, Captain of UQ's Asean Games' Singapore Basketball Team, called to say they have won! Number One! This's so fantastic and exciting! Jia you tomorrow! September 06 Cinderella on Ice / MoliereOn Friday, I went to watch Cinderella on Ice with Zhen Wei and it was so beautiful. So beautiful that you will be entranced in silence and have to rouse yourself up when it ends to give the performers well-deserved claps.
There were times when I felt like a little girl admiring the ballerina in a music box and there were times my heart ached with the 'Prince Charming' yearning for 'The One'. There were also times when I felt like an innocent girl, envying the angelic romance of Cinderella and her Prince.
The effects; flight, projection, fire and water, added sparkle to the whole show, though I felt that the fire was brought in just for the sake of adding a visual effect; serving no particular purpose for the direction of the performance. There were two technical glitches but these things do happen in theatre performances because they are after all, carried out live. Cut them a little slack because it was just, oh so beautiful.
After the show (his first theatre production, a previous dance production in Victoria Theatre notwithstanding
Alliance Francaise Theatre always screens French shows at a reasonable price so you can keep your eyes peeled for shows that you may have missed in the cinemas, if you are like me; someone who certainly prefers watching movies in cinemas to on your TV or computer at home. September 04 DreamsI dreamt of you again. I cried in my dreams again. You are already married. When will this stop? August 11 I'm Feeling So Healthy!Woohoo! On a high just from exercising!

July 27 Sweet Thank-you MessageAs my "Blood Ties" production is over, I started on my late clearing up of my emails. In the midst of doing so, I found an email which Varian sent to all in the production team, front and back stage. Re-reading it, my heart is warmed once again. Thank you, Varian.
Vivien: For the gossip sessions. For your unique laughter. For being the person who understand me when we run into problems as actors in this production. You brought style to the show. July 22 No to Bigger DP on New MSN!Just seen the new MSN (yes, i'm a snail) and realised the DP is so much bigger now...not good! Because pictures that I do not want to see are amplified! Ugh... True Love Never DiesA living example of how true love never dies...not everyone is as lucky as them; being able to be with the one you love but the feeling never truly dies in your heart.
LOST LOVE LETTER REUNITES COUPLE AFTER 16 YEARS
(extracted from Yahoo! Singapore! News - http://sg.news.yahoo.com/afp/20090720/tts-britain-spain-love-offbeat-cac1e9b.html)
LONDON (AFP) - - A British man and his Spanish former sweetheart have finally married 16 years after they drifted apart, reunited by a love letter lost behind a fireplace for over a decade, reports said on Monday. Steve Smith and Carmen Ruiz-Perez, both now 42, fell in love 17 years ago when she was a foreign exchange student in Brixham, southwest England, and got engaged after only a year together. But their relationship ended after she moved France to run a shop in Paris. A few years later, in a bid to rekindle their love, Smith sent a letter to her mother's home in Spain. It was placed on the mantelpiece, but slipped down behind the fireplace and was lost for over a decade. The missing missive was only found when builders removed the fireplace during renovation work. "When I got the letter I didn't phone Steve right away because I was so nervous," Ruiz-Perez told the Herald Express local newspaper. "I nearly didn't phone him at all. I kept picking up the phone then putting it down again. "But I knew I had to make the call." When they were reunited, it was as if time had stood still, said Smith, a factory supervisor. "When we met again it was like a film. We ran across the airport into each other's arms. We met up and fell in love all over again. Within 30 seconds of setting eyes on each other we were kissing. "I'm just glad the letter did eventually end up where it was supposed to be," he said, after the couple married last Friday. July 19 FashionpodMy dear girlfriend has set up a new blogshop @ LJ - catering to the different styles of modern girls who have their individual sartorial tastes. Check out the wide selection of garb and see what you can get togged up with! Here are a few of my favourite pictures while helping her with the photo shoot...
July 09 HandshakeI hate it when people give me a filmsy handshake.
In my experience of receiving such ridiculous handshakes, I have concluded the types of people who do this:
- Men who think women always shake hands limply
- Men who think women are so fragile that they can't grip their hands properly
- Many many women
When you give someone a firm handshake, you are projecting a confident demeanour and also telling the person that you are taking him/her seriously. In that case, why be a filmsy hand-shaker? |
